Klio Care vs. Suture Health

Suture Health (SutureSign) is a well-known e-signature network for post-acute orders. It solves one problem — getting documents signed — and charges physicians $200 a month and up for the version that actually tracks your billing. Klio starts at $100, includes referrals, hospice, AI tools for your agencies, and a monthly G-code report that lands in your billers’ inbox automatically.

What Suture Health is

SutureHealth describes itself as a network: home health, hospice and DME companies (“senders”) upload documents, and physicians, NPs and PAs (“signers”) e-sign them in one place. The signer side is split into a free Community tier and a paid Enterprise tier that, per their pricing page, starts at $200 per month — with Care Plan Oversight billing and EMR integration listed as additional costs.

The Community plan is free for the physician, but senders have to pay to send to you, and the plan only keeps two months of signature billing reports. To force all agencies to send electronically, keep 12 months of reports, and get enterprise support, you move to the paid plan.

What Suture does not offer the physician office is a way to start the loop. There is no referral tool — you cannot pick an agency, build a packet, and track acceptance. It is a place to sign what someone else sent.

Where Suture Health is strong

Suture has been in the market a long time and has a large signer base. Bulk signing, signing from a staff member’s screen without logging in, and automatic return to sender are mature features. Their published billing guidance for G0180 / G0179 is genuinely useful.

If all you want is a signing inbox and your agencies are already paying for Suture, the free Community tier is a reasonable place to start — as long as you accept the 2-month report window and that agencies who are not on Suture will keep faxing.

Where Klio wins for physician offices

  • Price and what’s in the box. Klio’s plans start at $100 a month with no add-on pricing: referral coordination, home health and hospice order signing, the monthly G0180 / G0179 report with evidence attached, and support are all included. Suture’s comparable Enterprise plan starts at $200 before you pay separately for CPO billing or EMR integration.

  • Referrals. Klio is two-sided. Your front desk sends complete referral packets to the patient’s preferred agency, watches acceptance in real time, and the signed order comes back to the same dashboard. Suture starts after the referral already happened.

  • Agencies. On Klio you invite any home health or hospice agency with a link and they are live in minutes, free. On Suture the agency has to join and pay as a sender, unless you buy Enterprise so they get a limited free account tied to you.

  • AI for your agencies. Agencies on the Klio network get AI intake, AI documentation, and revenue intelligence — which means cleaner orders arrive faster for you to sign. Suture offers document auto-matching, not agency-side AI.

Klio vs. Suture Health: frequently asked questions

Is Suture Health free for physicians?

There is a free Community tier, but it is limited: agencies have to pay to send to you, and only two months of signature billing reports are kept. The Enterprise plan that lets you force all senders electronic and keep 12 months of reports starts at $200 per month, with Care Plan Oversight billing and EMR integration as additional costs.

How much does Klio cost compared to Suture Health?

Klio starts at $100 a month for a physician office with no setup fee and no contract, and that price includes referral coordination, home health and hospice order signing, the monthly G0180 / G0179 billing report with evidence attached, and support. Suture Health’s comparable Enterprise plan starts at $200 a month before add-ons.

Can I send referrals to home health agencies with Suture Health?

No. SutureSign is designed for agencies to send documents to physicians for signature. Klio lets the physician office start the loop — build a complete referral packet, route it to the patient’s preferred agency, track acceptance, and receive the order back for one-click signing.

Does Klio handle hospice orders too?

Yes. Hospice certifications, face-to-face documentation, and interim orders arrive in the same signing queue as home health orders, and hospice referrals use the same referral workflow.

Do my agencies need to pay to work with me on Klio?

No. You invite any home health or hospice agency with a link; accepting is free for them and takes minutes. They start receiving your referrals and returning orders digitally right away.
